On Tuesday 2 February, Fahan School opened its doors to welcome all students back to school.

Playgrounds and corridors were soon alive with the laughter and excitement of Fahan girls returning for the start of another school year.

This year the girls returned to see the redevelopment of the Middle School completed. The project, designed by and managed by Tim Penny Architects, includes upgrades and extensions to a number of classrooms, a new parent-teacher meeting space and staff work room.

Principal, Tony Freeman, was delighted the building was completed to ensure students could start their year in a fresh new learning space.

“With a rise of student numbers, across many year groups, the Middle School redevelopment will be put to great use,” said Mr Freeman.

The first ceremony of the year was the School’s Investiture Service for School Leaders.

Chairman of the Fahan School Board, Keryn Nylander, congratulating the 2016 Leaders, reminded them of the significance of their role within the School and wider community.

“Leaders are not born, they are made and we are proud at Fahan to offer the opportunity for girls to develop as leaders and to serve others,” said Ms Nylander.

We welcome back all our parents and staff after the break for what we hope will be another outstanding year of achievement at Fahan.
