On Tuesday 18 October, all Fahan girls participated in a Big Sister, Little Sister (BSLS) treasure hunt that marked the final BSLS event for the year.

The girls met in the Gym and found their ‘families’ before being given a treasure map filled with clues for Buddy Bear’s “high tech” treasure hunt.

The Senior girls helped the younger students follow the clues and find the location of QR codes posted around the School. The older girls then scanned the QR codes for their group and helped the smaller girls collect the names of three Roald Dahl films. Armed with their treasure map and answers to the clues, the girls then headed to the pirate-themed TM Hall to find ‘Pirate’ Buddy Bear and collect their treasure.

Fahan School teacher, Mrs Jane Macrossan, said, “The treasure hunt is often my favorite BSLS activity for the year. It was wonderful to see the huge smiles on faces of the little ones when they were greeted by Mrs Foster, ‘the Pirate’, and Buddy Bear. The Junior School teachers commented on how excited the girls were all afternoon, which was wonderful to hear.”

Big Sister, Little Sister events take place every Term and aim to foster lasting relationships amongst the girls.
