From the Principal
Mr Tim Waley
Fahan School is about an education of the whole person for the whole of life. The unique environment that is Fahan seeks to challenge each student to develop her potential, to be socially aware, constructively critical and questioning.
This entails the building of warm, personal relationships where there is trust and respect, encouragement and forgiveness.
Fahan has a long and proud tradition of high academic achievements and extensive sporting and cultural programs. The school is committed to assisting all students develop to their fullest extent in order that they can confidently fulfil an effective role in the wider society they will occupy. Each student is cared for as an individual and valued in terms of her/his range of interests and abilities.
Although non-denominational, Fahan espouses Christian values. There is a clear emphasis on creating an environment where these values are lived as well as taught. Christian values are expressed and demonstrated clearly by the teaching staff, who, as mentors, set an example for the students. The School's ethos relies upon and is committed to Christian faith through which is established a spiritual framework that seeks to nurture a sense of moral right and the development of a strong values system.
The School motto, "Light Come Visit Me', is a challenge to all Fahan students to seek their own light which is both academic and spiritual and thus firmly establish the foundations for their futures.
In keeping Fahan's policy of exploring new and exciting technologies, I have established a Web 2.0 journal, known more commonly as a 'blog'. This online interactive journal will be used to communicate with the immediate and wider education community. I invite you to provide any feedback in the comments section.
