1997 Electronic Mail Link with Indonesia
This page has been set aside for the work produced by the girls and boys in both Malang and Hobart who recommenced communications with each other in April of 1997.
The mail received and sent during the months of April, May and June will appear on this page. At the time of writing, (April 24th 1997), our first letters of introduction have been sent to and received by the children at Blimbing III.
The excitement of once again communicating with children in Indonesia has not waned in the twelve months since we last made contact. Our mail to and from each other is recorded so that others may follow our growing understanding of each others cuture.
Brams first letters to Year Four On Friday April 25th we received our first message from one of the children at Blimbing III. Dr Yos Ginting has happily agreed to translate all mail from the children in Malang so that they may write freely to us without having to worry about their English translation.

Teachers diaries for 1997 An important part of the contact with Indonesia is the link between the teachers involved in the project. The letters written are kept on this link as a record of the work done in setting up the project.
Blimbing III mail All mail from the students at Blimbing III can now be read at this site. All mail is translated from the original Bahjasa Indonesia but with the original text included.
Indonesian clothing On Thursday May 2nd 1997, the girls in Year Four presented an assembly item to the Junior School which included the wearing of traditional Indonesian clothing.
