Why I feel Australian

The students in Year Four at Fahan were asked to define what they think made them feel they were Australian. Within the class there are children from Korea, Germany and England. The majority of children however, were born in Hobart, Tasmania. Asking children of eight and nine years of age to define the concept of citizenship of a country is not an easy concept for this age group to comprehend, however their thoughts are showing a beginning of how they view their place as citizens of Australia What Makes me an Australian
It is hoped that the children from SNDP elementary school in Malang will now define what they believe makes them feel citizens of Indonesia.

What makes me an Australian
I am a Australian because I was born here, I speak English with an Australian accent. When I go to other countries it doesn't feel like home because they speak different languges or talk with a different accent. It feels like home here in Australia with all the gum trees.

Australia is the lucky country, because....
We enjoy wide open spaces and no pollution. Australia is also a very tolerant society, which means we accept people from all countries of the world. We enjoy a very mild climate but in the north of Australia it gets very hot. We are also able to play a large number of sports, there are a large variety of plants and animals in Australia some found no where else in the world. In Australia we have a great education system.

Australian is an island Continent where migrants live from all over the world. .Some people in other parts of the world cannot go to school because they simply cannot afford it. I'm very lucky to live in a country with no war but peace We can eat different types of food.
