The Fahan School Community Committee, under the direction of Anna Forward, coordinated a Flood Relief Hamper that was raffled off during February to raise money for the Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal.

The winner of the raffle was Prep teacher Helen Stephen who will be receiving the hamper, which includes over $300 of new release books as well as candles, cards, a necklace and warming cocoa - a veritable pamper pack for any bookworm and especially timely as we head towards the cooler Autumn months when you can curl up with a good book, under a blanket, sipping on a warm cup of cocoa.

The amount of devastation and damage caused by one of Australia's worst natural disasters in recorded history will take many years and billions of dollars to repair and for some life will never be the same as they come to terms with having lost a family member, a friend or a neighbour to the floods.

The money raised from the raffle will be donated to the Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal.

We would like to thank everyone who purchased a ticket in the raffle, demonstrating their support and generosity towards fellow Australians.
