The 2011 Fahan Alumni Reunion Weekend was held this year on October 7 and 8 and was a great success with a number of Alumni returning to the School to participate in a range of reunion activities that spanned across two memorable days.

The 2011 event was for alumni who left in 2010, ’06, ’01, ’91, ’81, ’71, ’61, ’51-’55 and ’41- ’45.

Following the successful Friday lunchtime sporting matches of Alumni v Students, Fahan welcomed back Alumni that evening for Cocktails in the South Room.

As the evening began laughter was again heard through the School corridors as Alumni made their way up the staircase and past the names and photo boards to the South Room. They reminisced of days gone by discovering their name or class photo hanging with pride on the staircase wall.

It was a perfect start to a weekend of laughter and fond memories for all with over 90 Alumni in attendance for the Reunion Events.

The following day the sun was beaming and the deck was host to white clothed tables, chairs and an array of spring flowers to welcome back Alumni for the High Tea Event.

The afternoon commenced with individual class photos taken outside the Main Building followed by tours of the School, which proved a special highlight for many Alumni as they walked through the school gardens, classrooms and boarding house and reminisced about their time with the School.

The weather stayed kind as Alumni dined together in their friendship groups and enjoyed an array of delicious cakes, savories and refreshments.

President of the Fahan School Alumni Association, Kathryn Thomas said the weekend was a great success and it was great to see so many valued members of the Fahan community attending the event.

“The weekend’s events have been designed to welcome back our Alumni and provide them with opportunity to reunite and reminisce about their time with the School”

A special thanks to members of the FSAA for their ongoing commitment, enthusiasm and organisation in allowing this special event on the School’s calendar to be such a success.
