On Friday 10 May, Fahan entered a team in the Tasmanian All Schools Mountain Bike Championships at Tolosa Park. This is the third year we have competed in this event but it was the first year that there was a girls-only race.

We had over 40 girls competing in the U15, U17 and U19 divisions. The girls did an amazing job and, once again, attracted a lot of attention from other schools and the event organisers for their attitude and efforts throughout the day. They all enjoyed the experience and we could not be prouder of the way in which they represented Fahan at this event.

The Fahan team placed 2nd overall, a marvellous effort considering this was against co-ed schools who collected points from both the boys' and girls’ categories. Fahan won the U19 Female division with some strong riding from our senior girls and some very good individual efforts:

  • Abbey Willcox - 3rd in U15
  • Millie-Ava Stafford - 5th in U17
  • Amy Potter - 2nd in U19
  • Chloe Abel - 3rd in U19

Thank you to Mr Dan Firth for his work in preparing this team and to Mrs Liana Hayes, Mrs Jo Banks-Smith and Miss Holly Ryan for their help on the day. We also appreciated the support from all the parents for getting the girls to the training rides and for transporting bikes. A special thank you goes to Simon Willcox for his help on the day ensuring the girls were ready to race.
