Today we welcomed almost 200 grandparents and special friends to celebrate Junior School Grandparents’ Day, a much-loved event for our girls from Kindergarten to Year 6.

The day began with an assembly from the Kindergarten to Year 2 students. The audience was entertained with some amusing recipes for a grandparent, creative poems and a charming song and video about the vertical learning groups that take place in the Early Learning Centre. Following this assembly, grandparents and special friends were welcomed into the classrooms so they could experience first-hand some of the wonderful aspects of life at Fahan.

The next assembly featured girls from Years 3-6 showcasing their various talents including a performance by the Junior School Orchestra, short plays and poetry and an amusing comparison of the 1960s versus modern day life. The morning culminated in a touching performance by Junior School Vocal Group thanking their grandparents.

Head of Junior School, Amanda Evans, said "It is one of our favourite days of the year in the Junior School. Our girls delight in the opportunity to share this special time with their grandparents and special friends and we thank all who attended, both from within Tasmania and interstate."
