Battle of the Bands took centre stage as our Year 6 students performed for families following months of learning, rehearsing and collaborating in Music classes.
Performing as Red Roses, Sky High, Star Struck and Silver Static, each band showcased the skills students had developed on their chosen instrument or vocals. The evening celebrated not only musical achievement, but also teamwork, perseverance and the confidence that comes from performing before an audience.
Congratulations to Silver Static, who impressed guest adjudicator Greg Souter to be named the 2026 Battle of the Bands champions. We thank Greg for generously sharing his expertise and providing thoughtful feedback to our young musicians.
Earlier in the day, the bands also performed for the Junior School, giving younger students the opportunity to enjoy the concert and be inspired by what lies ahead in their own music learning.
Both performances concluded with a surprise appearance by Get Staffed, providing a memorable finale to a wonderful day of music.
Battle of the Bands is a highlight of the Year 6 Music program, giving every student the opportunity to apply the skills they have developed throughout the year in an authentic performance setting. Experiences like these help students build confidence, creativity, collaboration and a lifelong appreciation of music.
