Fahan Sailors Take on Australia's Best at the 2026 Australian Secondary Schools Team Racing Championships

Congratulations to our Fahan sailors on finishing as the third-placed all-female team at the 2026 Australian Secondary Schools Team Racing Championships after four days of racing on Hobart's River Derwent.

 

Hosted by Sandy Bay Sailing Club, the championship brought together 26 school entrants from across Australia to compete in one of sailing's most tactical and exciting disciplines. Team racing places a strong emphasis on teamwork, communication and split-second decision-making, with three boats working together strategically to achieve the best overall result.

 

Across the four-day regatta, competitors completed 273 races in a wide range of conditions, with strong winds during the finals providing an added challenge. Throughout the championship, the Fahan team demonstrated resilience, skill and composure while competing against some of Australia's best young sailors.

 

With a top-three finish among the all-female teams, Fahan is well placed to earn the opportunity to represent Australia at the Interdominion Team Racing Championships at the Royal Akarana Yacht Club in Auckland this October.
