Fahan School warmly invites you to the 2026 Travers Morphett Lecture, presented by Associate Professor Anna Farmery (née Griggs, 1992), recipient of the 2026 Gerdy Jevtic Medal.

In her lecture, In Endeavour and in Fun: How Curiosity and Courage Built a Global Career, Anna will reflect on how a love of learning, a willingness to take risks and an openness to different cultures shaped her career in international development, drawing on her experiences working with researchers, governments and fishing communities around the world, to improve food security and livelihoods.

Anna is an Associate Professor at the Australian National Centre for Ocean Resources and Security, University of Wollongong. She leads interdisciplinary research programs across Australia, the Pacific and Timor-Leste that advance sustainable food systems, with a focus on how oceans and fisheries support livelihoods, nutrition and resilience.

The lecture will include the presentation of the Gerdy Jevtic Medal and the Pride of Fahan Alumni Award, and will be followed by afternoon tea.
