Kate completed a double degree in Fine Arts and Secondary Education in 2014 at the University of Newcastle, majoring in Printmaking. She began her teaching career at Launceston College, where she taught for four years while also completing an Honours year in Contemporary Arts, specialising in Drawing and Textiles.

In 2019, Kate moved to Hobart and joined Elizabeth College, teaching there for six years. During this time, she took a year of leave following the birth of her son.

Alongside her teaching career, Kate maintains an active professional arts practice, regularly exhibiting her work and entering art prizes. She is deeply passionate about arts-based education and strongly believes in its role in helping young people explore, understand and engage with the world around them.
