Kate began her relationship with Fahan in 1980 when she started Kindergarten and matriculated in 1993. After leaving school Kate completed a traineeship in Childcare studies before working in the industry for six years.
Moving to business administration, Kate eventually progressed to the role of State Manager of The Government Information Book Shop where her passion for the library information industry began. She held this position for seven years before leaving to start her family.
After being at home with her two children until school age Kate went back to study and completed a Certificate III in Information and Cultural Services and is currently completing her Diploma in Library and Information Services.
Kate works part-time in the Senior Library at Fahan and part-time at Hobart LINC (State Library). Kate leads teams in public programs in Literacy Support, Children’s Services and general library client services.
Kate’s daughter Elizabeth started at Fahan in Pre-Kinder in 2011 and loves Fahan as much as her Mum does.
