Meg Denman

Teacher Librarian and Kindergarten Teacher

All, Early Learning, Junior School

With a Bachelor of Education and a Diploma of Teaching, Meg was formerly a secondary English teacher, before re-locating to Hobart with her young family in 2005. Meg commenced working in the Fahan School Senior Library in 2007 during which time she undertook her Diploma in Library and Information Services. In 2009, Meg accepted the position of Librarian in the T.M Junior School Library. Meg is passionate about literacy and believes that fostering an early love of books and reading is the most enjoyable way of promoting literacy. Meg currently works in the Junior School as a Year 6 teacher.

A quotation central to Meg's philosophy of learning is from educationalist, BF Skinner: "We shouldn't teach great books, we should teach a love of reading." Meg is constantly delighted by the insight students elicit from text and illustration in storybooks and the students’ willingness to share their reading experiences with others.
