On Saturday evening, 25 May 2019, our Year 12 girls held a Quiz Night as their major fundraising event of the year. An enthusiastic audience, which enjoyed a night of entertainment, prize-giveaways and a test-of-knowledge, embraced the sold-out event.

With almost 140 people filling the TM Hall, guests enjoyed an evening that aimed to draw attention to two charitable causes the Year 12 girls had chosen to focus their fundraising efforts towards, The Freya Fund and Engender Equality.

An impressive 17 teams battled through ten quiz rounds with one ultimately named the winner. The sale of raffle tickets and Silent Auction bids were generous with guests taking home an abundance of goods, all of which had been donated by local businesses and members of the Fahan Community. The total fundraising efforts resulted in over $12,600, making the night an incredible success.

Fahan Head Girl, Isabella Farid, was thrilled with the result, “Our Quiz Night was a wonderful way for the Fahan Community to come together and enjoy a night of entertainment and friendly competition. The goodwill and generosity of those who came along was fantastic.” Bella acknowledged that the hard work that went into preparing for the event had paid off. “The Year 12 girls worked so hard to make the night a success and we are incredibly proud to have raised so much money for causes that are close to our heart. We look forward to donating the money later this year. We’d like to thank our parents, friends and community members for their contributions, including the local businesses who donated goods for silent auction.  Together, your support made the night a fantastic success.”

Principal, Tony Freeman, said, “The Year 12 girls should be immensely proud of their efforts; the event was outstanding. This is a wonderful outcome for the girls and their chosen charities.”
