Our Prep to Year 2 students travelled to Dru Point Playground to celebrate National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day.

Students were welcomed by staff from Leprena UAICC Tasmania, who shared a Welcome to Country and spoke with the children about the importance of working together, learning from one another and building a positive future for all.

Throughout the day, students took part in a range of art and cultural activities. They learned how to grind ochre and use it for mark-making and painting, providing opportunities to learn through connection, creativity and shared experience.

The artwork created during the day helped document a shared commitment to working together for a better future.

Fahan values its ongoing partnership with Leprena UAICC Tasmania and the opportunities it provides for students to connect and deepen their understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and perspectives.
